BIMODALITY OF CROWDED POLLEN TUBES IN PRIMULA OBCONICA

Abstract

In Primula obconka and other plants with dry stigma, excessive pollination leads to the arrest of late-growing pollen tubes in the top of the style. Thus the effect of crowding is to simulate partial incompatibility.
