HAPLOIDY IN CASTORBEANS

Abstract

The observation of haploids in castorbeans, (Ricinus communis L.) is reported. Chromosome behavior in castorbean haploids is similar to that found in other genera. Cytological analysis of meiosis revealed 10 univalent chromosomes at first metaphase.
