Abstract

An error appears in Figure 1 in the article, "Inheritance of the Sunred Character of Sorghum Seed," by A.J. Casady and G.H. Liang in the September-October 1973 issue of the Journal of Heredity (64:279–281. 1973). In preparing the color separations, the lower half of Figure 1 was inadvertently reversed, resulting in the incorrect identification of mature sorghum seed. As printed, mature nonsunred seed of Texioca-63 are shown on the left, and mature seed of sunred 68M6208 are shown on the right.

An error appears in the article, "The Drooping Syndrome of Ricinus," by Oved Shifriss in the November-December 1973 issue of the Journal of Heredity (64:351–355. 1973). On page 351 under the heading "Sex" the third paragraph reads: "Genes Id1 and Id2 condition a state that does not favor the differentiation of interspersed staminate flowers. However, these genes do condition the differentiation of interspersed staminate flowers3 and act as promoters of maleness." The paragraph should read: "Genes Id1 and Id2 condition a state that does not favor the differentiation of interspersed staminate flowers. Genes Id1 and Id2 condition the differentiation of interspersed staminate flowers3 and act as promoters of maleness."

The editors regret the errors.
