Abstract

A retroesophageal right subclavian artery arising as the last branch of the aortic arch and its associated aberrant right recurrent laryngeal nerve are described. Inheritance appears to be due to a single autosomal recessive gene with incomplete penetrance. We propose the sym bol res for the gene responsible for this condition.
