Abstract
Twelve strains of Drosophila pseudoobscura were grown on ten different foods at two temperatures. Five components of fitness were measured. Factorial analyses of variance showed genotype by environment interactions for all traits studied and environmental interactions for nearly all. These results support the belief that heritability studies of human IQ, which assume such interactions to be absent, are of dubious worth.
