Abstract
Reduced palmate, a recessive mutant on the left arm of chromosome 3, affects the size and shape of the palmate hairs during the larval stage of Anopheles albirnanus Wiedemann. Penetrance of the mutant is somewhat dependent upon temperature, with good expression at 25°C but a much more variable expression as the temperature is increased. Temperature-shift experiments were utilized to determine that the third instar isthe temperature-sensitive stage.
