Phenotype and gene frequencies in red fox populations of Russian America in 1803–1832

Abstract

From game records of 1803–1832, distinct differences in B gene (Alaskan black coat color) frequencies between island and mainland red fox populations of Russian America were established. The level of polymorphism for coat color was stable during this period.
