Abstract

Polypeptide profiles are very similar for proteins extracted from apomictic and sexual ovaries of Panicum maximum as analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Several stages in ovarian maturation were studied and all stages yielded similar results with one exception. A band of 68,000 molecular weight is present in the latest stages with extractions performed in the presence of protease inhibitors.
