AbstractIn the paper, Nucleolus organizer regions on chromosomes of the domestic dog, by E. Kopp, B. Mayr, and W. Schleger (Journal of Heredity 73: 7374. 1982) errors in the conclusions were discovered after the paper had been released to print.
It should be noted that nucleolus organizer regions do not occur on chromosome 8 (as reported), but on chromosome 11; and not on chromosome 38 (as reported), but on the Y chromosome. The corrected conclusions should read as follows
In the domestic dog (Canis familiaris, 2n = 78) major silver-stained nucleolus organizer regions were detected on the telomcric regions of chromosome 7, 11, 27, and sometimes on the Y-chromosome. Ag-G stained metaphases are shown in the corrected Figure 1 and legend in the adjacent columns.
The authors regret these errors.
In the paper, Genetic interpretation of malate dehydrogenase isozymes in some conifer species, by Yotfsry A. El-Kassaby (Journal of Heredity 72: 451452. 1981), the following error should be noted.
The first sentence under Materials and Methods reads: Several hundred megagametophytes from seed collected from almost the entire range of the following species...

In the book review by Paul F. Forsthoefel of Mammalian Genetics and Cancer: The Jackson Laboratory Fiftieth Anniversary Symposium (Journal of Heredity 73:83. 1982), an error appears at the beginning of the second paragraph of the review. It reads: The papers of session II are concerned with the experimental analysis of mammalian differentiation. V. E. Papaioannou explains how the various modes of forming mouse chimeras.
This section should read: The papers of session I are devoted to gene and chromosome organization. E. M. Eicher follows the development of the mouse linkage map since its beginning in 1915 to 1971. She communicates well...
