Abstract
The amount of outcrossing on male-sterile, female-fertile ms2 ms2 and ms3 ms3 soybean plants was compared in Ames, Iowa, and in Isabela, Puerto Rico. The average number of poda and of seed per ms2 ms2 plant was significantly greeter in lowa then in Puerto Rico, as was the average number of seed per ms3 ms3 plant. Lesser seed production on male-sterile plants in Puerto Rico may be the result of con photoperlod, shorter flowering period, and (or) use of Insecticides.
