Allelic asynchrony during Barbus hybrid development

Abstract

The expression of alleles encoding Icohol dehydrogenase (ADH) In Barbus hybrid B. titteya female x B. oligolepis male) was investigated b crylamlde gel electrophoresls. The initial lov evel of activity of the heterodimer and the paternal omodimer Is suggestive of an incompatibility between maternal cytoplasmlc regulatory factors nd the paternal regulative element.
