A backcross method to prevent prenatal death of steel mutant mice

Abstract

Homozygous SI/SI mice survive until adulthood when obtained from matlngs between WC/Re-SII+ and (WC/Re X Swiss:NIH) F1-SI+ or WC/Re-SII+ and (WC/Re X AKR/Cum) h>F1-SII+ mice. They possess the classical hematologlcal abnormalities produced by mutations at the SI locus.
