Abstract

A small segment of chromosome 1, 12AB-12C, In Drosophila melanogaster is dosage-sensitive for the glycolytic enzyme pyruvate kinase (EC 2.7.1.40 [EC] ). We suggest that the enzyme is coded by a gene, Pyk+, located within this region. The activity of the enzyme over developmental time also was measured.
