Linkage of the Satin and Umbrous Loci in the Syrian Hamster

Abstract

Linkage is reported between the loci for satin (Sa) coat and umbrous (U) coat color in the Syrian hamster. The estimated crossover percentage is 16.3 ± 1.0. The two loci assorted independently of four of the five known autosomal linkage groups of the hamster.
