Abstract
The gene encoding catalase-3 in maize (Zea mays L.) was mapped using two methods: (1) RFLP analysis of an F2 population segregating for two alleles of Cat3 and (2) RFLP analysis of a standard set of recombinant inbreds probed with a Cat3-specific cDNA fragment. The genetic map location of Cat3 as determined by both methods is at the distal end of the long arm of chromosome 4.
