Erratum
In the March/April 2004 issue of the Journal of Heredity (Vol. 95, No. 2), the article "Molecular Evolution of X-linked Accessory Gland Proteins in Drosophila pseudoobscura," by L. S. Stevison, B. A. Counterman, and M. A. F. Noor (doi:10.1093/jhered/esh027), erroneously listed CG4111 as an accessory gland protein (Acp). Although this gene was isolated from a Drosophila simulans accessory gland EST library enriched for male-specific expression (see Swanson et al. 2001 study cited in the original paper), it may not be such a protein. However, this gene was not used in any analyses in the article, so the article's conclusions are unaltered. The three putative Acps used for all analyses (CG2206, CG16707, and CG13309) were isolated from an accessory gland EST library enriched for male-specific expression, and all encode proteins with predicted signal peptides, hence making them good candidate Acp genes.
