We are pleased to announce that Journal of Heredity will be moving to online submission through Manuscript Central in early 2008. This will expedite manuscript submission and review, as well as improve our ability to track revisions and communicate with Associate Editors and authors.
In preparation for this move, all AGA members will receive, by email, an invitation to register as an author and reviewer. By registering, you will facilitate your future submissions and assist us in selection of potential reviewers. When you receive your email invitation, please follow the link to Manuscript Central and provide the requested information. You will only need to enter this information once. Our goal is to keep the registration as simple as possible and to assist members with any difficulties. Please contact the Editorial Office if you encounter any problems at agajoh@oregonstate.edu.
If we do not have your email address, please send it and your subscription number to the Editorial Office.

The 2008 meeting of the American Genetic Association will be held at the Raleigh Sheraton Hotel, Raleigh, NC. Watch for details in future issues of the journal and on the AGA Web site (http://www.theaga.org).
This conference will explore current status and future trends in the genetic architecture of behavior, neurogenetic mechanisms of behavior, and evolution of behavior. In addition to a stellar group of invited speakers, there will be an opportunity for platform presentations from participants who submit abstracts. Competitive scholarships for travel and registration will be available for students and postdoctoral fellows.

"The Stephen J. O'Brien Award" for the best student paper published in the Journal of Heredity the previous year will be awarded at the annual meeting of the AGA and will include a cash prize of $1000. The award is intended to honor Dr. O'Brien's many years of exemplary service as Chief Editor of the Journal of Heredity. Papers are eligible for the 2007 award if the first author was a registered student at the time of manuscript submission and if the article is published in Volume 98 of the Journal of Heredity.
